Camping Comfortably: How to Prepare for Your Stay at DHM
July 8, 2025Winter Maintenance at the Resort:

While winter brings a quieter pace to De Hollandsche Molen, our team remains hard at work behind the scenes to ensure the resort remains safe, beautiful, and ready for the next season of guests. The colder months provide the perfect opportunity to carry out essential maintenance and improvements — the kind of work that often goes unnoticed but makes a big difference.
One of our main focus areas during the off-season is tree trimming and vegetation management. With the trees bare and the riverbanks more visible, it is the ideal time to remove overgrowth, assess tree health, and safely trim back any limbs that may pose a risk during storms or strong winds. This not only enhances safety but also preserves the natural beauty of the resort.
We also take advantage of the quieter winter days to conduct general repairs and preventative maintenance across the property. This includes fixing pathways, checking and servicing plumbing and electrical systems, repainting where needed, and carrying out minor upgrades in the communal areas and units. Winter's slower pace allows our team to work thoroughly and thoughtfully — without disrupting our guests' enjoyment.
The workshop and yard teams are busy servicing equipment, ensuring that everything from lawn mowers to pool pumps is in top working order. Drainage systems are checked, gutters cleaned, and facilities inspected to prepare for the wetter weather.
It is during this time that we also review safety procedures, conduct staff training, and fine-tune operations — ensuring that when the warmer months arrive, we are more than ready to welcome everyone back to a polished and refreshed resort.
So while the valley rests, we are rolling up our sleeves — all to keep De Hollandsche Molen as beautiful and well-kept as ever.
